Callum Roberts
A good friend of mine who is a games environment artist, mainly working with the Unreal Engine required a website to display his work. He had been using the DA Portfolio and also Behance network but found them both to be a little restrictive in different ways. I created him a site using CMSMS and catered it for his needs.
The design focuses on showing his work, almost like a virtual gallery room.
Baseball CapStore
I used photoshop and inspiration from a brick and mortar shopfront to come up with the design for a Baseball Cap Store's ecommerce website. The Cap Store uses a dark theme similar to a shop's decor with the most popular hats displayed in a realistic manner.
The design puts heavy focus on the products since The shop exists solely because of it's unique and interesting garments.
Everything about this design is custom, including the shopping cart and the categories are arranged in a logical and sensible order so it's easy for the user to find what they are looking for.
SimpleEye Photography
I was in contact with a photography company who was in need of a new website. I put together this proposal for them.
The logo was designed by myself, the company is called SimpleEye so I took the idea of an eye, and the lens of a camera and created this nice logo with some negative space to accentuate the eye lids.
Unfortunately the client never got back to me and so the design never made it past the proposal stage.
Connected IT
Connected IT needed an online presence to promote the business which operates in Portsmouth. The company also lacked a proper identity so I was asked to come up with a logotype and web site to match.
You can see examples of the offered logos to the left, and the final one is on the website. The final logo has a customized font with the letters connected.
The website has a very corporate IT feel to it which was what Connected IT were aiming for, with a light blue and grey colour scheme.
DGS Homes
A long time friend who started a property management company needed a website. The main purpose was to advertise the company and its properties and promotions.
It became apparent quite quickly the owner wanted a lot of information on the website to do with all aspects of legalities with properties and such. I created a large menu to handle all this information, with tabbed information on each page.
The most important things (The properties and the promotions) are on the front page quite prominantly, as well as the partnerships DGS Homes has with various organisations.
Nik Bartrum Photography
A photographer I knew required a new website for his personal wedding photography service. Nik needed a site that was promotional; showing off his amazing wedding photography.
I designed his logo, it features a lens aperture behind his initials in a very elegant and modern fashion. I used the font Bastardus Sans which has a professional, but also familiar and friendly feel.
The site I designed with a regal and elegant purple theme, Nik was unsure at first but as soon as he saw it, he loved it. The site focuses completely on the photos, and each page has one associated with it. I used image-replacement to hide the search engine friendly text.
